Baton Rouge Gallery – center for contemporary art (“BRG”) is proud to announce it is accepting submissions for Surreal Salon 9, the national juried exhibition that highlights the growing quality and popularity of the pop-surrealist/lowbrow movement in American contemporary art. The exhibition will be juried by one of the most respected artists working within the pop-surrealism movement, Greg “Craola” Simkins.
The exhibition will be held January 4 - 26, 2017 at BRG (located inside the Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish’s (“BREC”) historic City Park (1515 Dalrymple Dr.). During the show’s run, it will be open to the public, free of charge, during normal gallery hours (Tuesday-Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.).
We will have some GREAT new releases at DesignerCon this year. More details will be announced soon at IMSCARED.COM and be sure to follow @craola on Instagram and "like" my Facebook page.

Greg “CRAOLA” Simkins is an established Los Angeles-based fine artist known for his intricate and inspiring paintings, drawings, & wall graffiti, most of which can be best categorized as Escapism. After noticing his wall art in various places around town, Ones To Watch approached Craola for more insight into his creative process.
What we ended up with is a playlist of Craola’s top “20 Songs For Painting,” as well as more details on where he draws influence for his work.
