“RABBIT SEASON” Collection

For a long time now, rabbits have been ushers between worlds for day dreamers and wandering souls alike. You mostly see them out of the corner of your eye...until you don’t. Once caught, they will confront you with an opportunity - once in a lifetime chance to head out on an adventure from which you may or may not return! Conductors of chaotic time splitting fun, they always come equipped with a time piece or a compass, both serving the purpose of guiding one into the greatest amount of mischief in the shortest amount of time possible. Through bunny trails and rabbit holes, you’ll meat owls, cats, snakes and moles. The only boundaries we encounter when setting out on these journeys into our daydreams are the very walls that we have placed there to keep “The Outside” out. It's when we finally decide to get over our fears and "Go Outside" that the real adventure begins.

His last memory haunts him, mainly because it’s his only memory before he became a ghost. It is a memory of a shrill scream from a queen dressed all in red, and the last words he heard were “OFF WITH HIS HEAD!” Now he wanders through worlds like this, that, and the other…trying to remember his name. He has stumbled upon new friends when appearing in “The Outside”, mainly Ralf and Breeze who nicknamed him FANTM, but it was his new pal Solitaire who sent him to the moon bunnies with a special gifts. Let’s hope they can help him remember who he was…

I have been a huge admirer of classic cartoons ever since I was a child. The palette, the scratchy record soundtracks, the bouncy, pie-eyed characters and even the advertising posters and film advertisements were mesmerizing to me. I would spend hours watching VHS tapes of classic Disney, Fleischer, Terrytoons, Hanna Barberra, Felix the Cat, etc... I have also always been fascinated with the story works of Ub Iwerks and the hand he had in creating Mickey Mouse with Walt Disney. Having been a forever fan of the character they were working on before Mickey was invented, I've often wondered, what if Walt never ventured out and created his iconic mouse? What if instead, a certain lucky rabbit named Oswald could have taken that place? What would the world look like?

I am a rabbit fanatic through and through and have been using them as my muses since I began drawing. So it will be a fun project continuing on with this series…
