I paint a lot of keys in my work. With every key, there is a keyhole that when matched up, unlocks the portal into a fantastic and whimsical other world that I call the “The Outside”. It’ a place where octopus carriages travel through rain clouds and herds of antique couches travel through villages of puppet people and Starry Knights. You might find yourself flying on the back of an enormous bluejay while out on an adventure of your own, with a card guard sidekick leading the way. This key has passed through many hands and has invited all kinds of characters to fall down the rabbit hole and venture off into a place made up of pure imagination.
